Studying for midterms and finals can be extremely stressful for students. Sometimes we just want to spend the weekend going out with friends so we could escape from the amount of stress we get exposed to during the weekdays. But that doesn’t seem to be the best alternative since we sometimes rely on those weekends to finish up our studies or assignments. However, there is a way we could deal with these stress.
All college majors are challenging in their own ways. Although, a significant amounts of medical students have committed suicide during the past years. A survey from the U.K Time Magazine shows that 15% of Med students have considered suicide. When doing a comparison, there is a much more percentage of suicide rate among the medical field, however, it’s not the only area of studies it has occurred. Researchers found that 1 in 5 college students consider suicide because of stress.
It’s unfortunate to hear these heartbreaking events are happening to students, there is so much in life they haven’t learn nor experience. As a student, we sacrifice time we could’ve spent with friends and family, even relationship for some, devoted all these time to many trips to the library and sleepless night so that we could reach the so-called “American Dream”. Just as we are in the middle of it all, to survive the school life, loneliness comes in along with stress, only to build evil thoughts in our mind.
When failures started to crawl in the mist, knocking on our doors, not having the desired grade we worked so hard to obtain or having to repeat a certain course that we gave our all to. When all finally combine and form this force in our head which we are not capable to fight all at once. Our mind becomes weak, at this point we need to seek help. Today, I want inform everyone that we can prevent these situations from happening.

We can help ourselves stay motivate and determine until we reach our goals. All it takes is to exercise routinely. It might sound a little surprising to some, but trust me, exercise is one of the most effective remedy to stress. It could be any type of exercise activities, such as a little run in the morning, walking in a treadmill, a dance class, basketball, anything that requires exercise will do. As long as it’s being done routinely, you will benefit dramatically and your brain will love you for it.
To name a few benefits of the effect of exercising in the brain; it improves alertness, boosts energy, improves mood, builds brain cells, and improve memorization. If you like going to the gym, you will get an even better result but it’s not required. There are thousands of exercises that can be done at home. YouTube is also a great source of learning about the types of exercise and how to do them.
